aka Evergreen Azalea

Not to be mistaken as a Camellia but the flowers are large, double and Camellia-like. With bright rosy carmine pink flowers in Spring, the shrub has an upright habit and glossy green foliage. Happiest in semi-shade and acid soil. Mulch roots regularly to keep cool. Evergreen.
